A group removes the body of a dead migrant from a tractor-trailer found near Victoria, Texas. Dozens of migrants had been crammed into the trailer. Nineteen of them perished from the heat and dehydration. It remains one of the deadliest cases of migrant smuggling in U.S. history, 2003 .

‘Russians, Go Home!’ Hungary 1956

Warren Nutter, 19, reads a letter from his mother. He was one of the youngest men sentenced to death in Iowa. After his sentence was commuted to life in prison, he became one of the longest serving inmates in the country. Nutter served 65 years at the Iowa State Penitentiary, 1957 .
