My 5th great grandfather, born in 1771 in the Colony of Virginia. This was taken in the 1840s or 1850s in Tennessee. His 2x great grandfather arrived in the colony in 1653.

The last photo of SS officer Fritz Dietrich, 50. He had a leading role in the massacres of thousands by Germans and Latvian collaborators in Liepāja. Dietrich, whose role in this was not known at the time, was hanged for the murders of 7 American POWs in Germany (Landsberg Prison, 1948) .
